Common questions
Answers before you call.
Everything homeowners usually ask about designing and building a landscape in North Georgia. Don't see your question? Just ask us.
Getting started & cost
How much does a landscape design project cost?
Every property is different, so we scope each project individually, the size of the space, the materials, the stonework and the plantings all factor in. High-end, full-property outdoor-living projects commonly run into the tens of thousands. After a free on-site consultation we provide a detailed written quote, so you know exactly what's included before any work begins.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. We come to your property, walk the site with you, learn how you want to use the space, and assess the conditions, at no cost and no obligation. It's the best way for us to give you an accurate plan and quote.
Do you have a minimum project size?
We take on projects big and small, and every one gets the same care and a direct conversation with Warren or Meghan. Our focus is high-end design and outdoor living, but we're happy to talk through whatever you have in mind.
Design & process
Do you handle the full project, from design to build?
Yes. We design and build in-house, hardscapes, plantings, grading, drainage and lighting, and, when a project calls for it, we handle tree removal and trimming too. One crew, one point of contact, from concept to grown-in.
What makes you different from other landscapers?
Genuine horticultural expertise. Warren understands plants, soil and how a property matures over time, so the design protects your landscape's long-term health and value, not just how it looks the week it's finished. We're a design studio with real plant knowledge, not a chainsaw crew.
How long does a project take?
It depends on scope, materials and weather. A focused install may take a few days; a full-property design-build with extensive stonework, grading and planting takes longer. We give you a realistic timeline with your written quote and keep you updated throughout.
Plants, lawns & North Georgia conditions
When is the best time to install sod in Canton?
Sod can be installed year-round in Canton as long as the ground isn't frozen. Spring and fall are ideal, cooler temperatures and seasonal rain help it root quickly, but with proper watering, new sod thrives in other seasons too. Read our full guide.
Do you design with native and low-maintenance plants?
Wherever it adds real value, yes. We favor native and well-adapted species that thrive in Zone 7b heat, humidity and clay, they establish faster, need less fussing, and support local pollinators and birds. The right plant in the right place is the foundation of a landscape that ages well.
My yard has drainage or slope problems. Can you fix that?
That's a big part of what we do. North Georgia's clay and sloped lots often need grading, retaining walls, dry creek beds or drainage before anything else looks right. We diagnose where water actually goes and design a solution that protects your landscape and your foundation. See grading & drainage.
Service area & logistics
What areas do you serve?
We're based in Canton and serve Cherokee, Cobb, Forsyth, Paulding, Bartow, Gilmer, Dawson, North Fulton and Pickens counties, including Holly Springs, Woodstock, Ball Ground, Alpharetta, Milton, Crabapple, Roswell, Cumming and Jasper. See our full service area.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, Complete Horticulture & Tree Service is licensed and insured, and maintains an A+ rating with the BBB.
Do you do tree removal on its own?
We handle tree removal and trimming, often as part of a larger design or install, and as a standalone service when you need it. Because we're horticulturists first, we approach trees with an eye toward the health of what stays. Learn more about tree removal & trimming.
